Overview:
When using ExSign with the Outlook Add-in, the email signature may not be automatically inserted into the email body if its size exceeds the limit supported by the Microsoft Outlook Add-in API.
Cause:
Microsoft has defined a 30,000-character limit for the setSignatureAsync API, which is used by Outlook Add-ins to insert signatures into email messages.
If the signature exceeds this limit, Outlook may be unable to insert the signature into the email body.
Signature size can increase due to several factors, including:
- Large or high-resolution images
- Extensive HTML content
- Complex formatting
- Embedded graphics or banners
- Additional signature elements
Recommended Resolution:
If a signature is not being inserted through the ExSign Outlook Add-in, review and optimize the overall signature content.
We recommend:
- Reducing unnecessary HTML and formatting.
- Optimizing images and other graphical elements.
- Avoiding unnecessarily large or high-resolution images.
- Removing content that is not required.
- Keeping the signature comfortably within Microsoft's supported limit.
After optimizing the signature, test it again through the ExSign Outlook Add-in.
