ExSign Outlook Add-in Configurations Using Microsoft Exchange On-Premises

Overview
The ExSign Outlook Add-in enhances the email signing experience by integrating ExSign functionality directly into Microsoft Outlook. This article explains how to download the Outlook Add-in from the ExSign Portal and deploy it in an Exchange On-Premises environment using the Exchange Admin Center (EAC).
Step 1: Download the Outlook Add-in from ExSign
  1. Log in to the ExSign Web Portal.
  2. Navigate to Entities.
  3. Locate your Transport Agent Edition Entity.
  4. Click Manage Outlook Add-in.


  1. Download the Outlook Add-in package.


The download will provide a manifest.xml file, which will be used for deployment in Exchange.

Step 2: Access the Exchange Admin Center
  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Navigate to your Exchange Admin Center (EAC) URL:
  3. https://<Exchange_Server_Name>/ecp
Example:
https://192.168.1.99/ecp
  1. Log in using an Exchange Administrator account.
Step 3: Upload the Outlook Add-in
  1. In the Exchange Admin Center, navigate to:
Organization → Add-ins

  1. Click the + (Plus) icon.
  2. Select Add from File.
  3. Browse and select the downloaded manifest.xml file.
  1. Click Next and complete the upload process.
The Outlook Add-in will now be added to your Exchange organization.

After uploading the manifest.xml file, select the uploaded add-in and click the Edit (Pencil) icon.
Ensure that Make this add-in available to users in your organization is checked, then choose one of the following deployment options:
  • Optional, enabled by default – The add-in is automatically enabled for users, but they can disable it if required.
  • Optional, disabled by default – The add-in is available to users but remains disabled until they choose to enable it.
  • Mandatory, always enabled. Users can't disable this add-in – The add-in is automatically enabled for all users and cannot be disabled.
Once you have selected the desired option, click Save to apply the changes.



Step 5: Verify the Outlook Add-in
After the deployment is complete:
  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Create a new email message.
  3. Navigate to the Compose window.
The ExSign Outlook Add-in should now be visible and available for use within Outlook.
 


Result
The ExSign Outlook Add-in has been successfully deployed to your Exchange On-Premises environment. Users can now access ExSign functionality directly from the Outlook compose window, enabling a seamless email signature management experience.
