Setup Outlook Edition with ExSign

Overview
This article provides step-by-step instructions to configure the Outlook Edition deployment mode using ExSign. Once configured, users will automatically apply email signatures based on the rules defined in ExSign.

Step 1: Login to ExSign Portal and Create New Entity
  1. Login to the ExSign portal. 
  2. Navigate to New Entity
  3. Click on New Entity (On-Premises Mode)
 
 
  1. Provide the required details. 
  2. Under Deployment Mode, select Outlook Edition
  3. Click Save/Add to create the entity. 
 
Step 2: Download ExSign Client Utility
  1. Once the entity is created, locate it in the list. 
  2. Click on the three-dot menu next to the entity. 
  3. Select Download Client Utility
 

Step 3: Configure Signature Sync Options
After downloading, you will see two configuration options:
  1. Check for New Signature – Refresh Interval 
    • Allows you to define a time interval. 
    • The client utility will run automatically based on the defined interval. 
  2. Check for New Signatures – Once at Startup 
    • The utility runs once when client login to windows.
Select the preferred option and click on the Download Icon.
 
 
Step 4: Extract Client Utility Files
  1. Locate the downloaded file named "ExSignClientUtility"
  2. Unzip the file. 
 

  1. After extraction, you will see four files
 

Step 5: Copy Files to Domain Script Path
  1. Copy the extracted four files. 
  2. Paste them into the following path on all domain controllers: 
\\{Your ADMachine}\sysvol\{Domain.com}\scripts
 
 
Step 6: Configure Logon Script for Users
  1. Open the user profile in Active Directory. 
  2. Navigate to the Profile tab
  3. In the Logon Script field, enter the following exactly as shown: 
ExSignClient.exe
  1. Apply and save the changes. 

Note: Log out and then log back in on the client Outlook machine to allow ExSign to properly initialize and connect.

Step 7: Verify Signature in Outlook
  1. Open Microsoft Outlook for the configured user. 
  2. Click on New Email
  3. The ExSign signature should automatically appear. 

Step 8: Signature Selection From Outlook
Users can also select signatures from the Outlook signature settings.
All available signatures will reflect based on the rules configured in ExSign.
