Error: Unable to connect or verify cloud AD, please enter valid cloud AD credentials and cloud AD root

Problem: The following error is thrown upon trying to save the AD Connect Sync tool’s configurations: Unable to connect or verify cloud AD, please enter valid cloud AD credentials and cloud AD root.


Reason: At times, the AD Connect Sync tool does not allow to connect properly even though all credentials are properly given for both Cloud and Local AD. Cloud AD Settings return this error if the OU Distinguished Name is not properly given or is incorrect.

Resolution: To solve this problem, copy the complete Distinguished Name of Cloud OU and insert it in Cloud AD Root in the HC Directory Sync tool under the Cloud AD Settings tab.
