How to add an SSL enabled SharePoint site
 
  1. Create a secure Web Application from within central administration. Choose the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) option.


     
  2. Login to Hosting Controller and create a SharePoint site. While creating the site, select the SSL enabled Web Application created earlier.


     
  3. Manually assign certificate to newly added SharePoint site in IIS.  If there is only one SharePoint site, the certificate will be assigned automatically else you have to assign it manually. Hosting Controller does not assign it by itself.
