Question: How to rename default HC panel host user (hcadmin)?
Renaming the hcadmin user involves 3 steps. Suppose you want to rename default HC panel host user “hcadmin” to “admin”. In this case follow the steps given below:
1) Rename the hcadmin user in registry at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Advanced Communications\HostingController\General. Here change the “DefaultHost” key value to “admin”
2) Rename the “hcadmin” user to “admin” in computer MMC or AD Users and Computers.
3) Rename the user in HC database. Open tblUsers and rename “hcadmin” to “admin”.
