How to change Active Directory password while using AD authentication

Question: How to change Active Directory password while using AD authentication?

When Active Directory user or group authentication is enabled in HC panel and password for the domain admin user is changed directly in Active Directory at the backend, HC does not recognize the new password and hence fails to connect. The password is changed in Active Directory but this change is not reflected in HC database.

To overcome this potential issue, HC makes available a password change utility. The ‘ADAuthHelper.exe’ utility helps change and synchronize the new password in HC, thus enabling the domain controller to connect after a password change.

The ‘ADAuthHelper.exe’ utility is located at APIs/Bin/ADAuthHelper.exe in the HC install path.

It works for both user and group authentication modes. It does not work in case of internal authentication.
