How to install dedicated SSL Certificate on a website using HC Panel


Question: How to install dedicated SSL Certificate on a website using HC Panel ?

Answer:
In order to install the dedicated SSL Certificate on a Windows or Linux based website in HC, follow the given steps:

HC10 Instructions:
  1. Login to the host-admin interface, and navigate to the path Cluster Configuration :: Manage Servers :: Cluster Settings. Here, enable “Dedicated SSL” and “IP Based Domains” options under Windows or Linux family tabs (according to your own requirements). After this, click on “Save Settings” button.
  2. Server Manager :: Servers Edit the Web Server and then click on Save and Edit Roles. Enable the Name Based SSL (SNI) and Dedicated SSL as shown in the below Screenshot and then save the setting.
     
  3. Now login as the reseller in HC panel, and create website at path Provisioning :: Websites :: Create Website.
     
  4. Once the website is created, navigate to the path Provisioning :: Websites :: Dashboard :: Website Details :: Dedicated SSl, and generate CSR file for the website.
    Note: HC will not let you generate CSR file for a Name Based Domain.

  5. Provide this CSR file to any certificate authority i.e GoDaddy, Enom etc. to acquire SSL certificate CRT file. After this, you will be able to install the dedicated SSL on the concerned website at path Provisioning :: Websites :: Dashboard :: Website Details :: Dedicated SSl in the reseller or webadmin interface.

HC9 Instructions:
  1. Login to the host-admin interface, and navigate to the path Cluster Configuration :: Manage Servers :: Cluster Settings.   2. Now login as the reseller in HC panel, and create an IP based website at path Hosting Services :: Manage Websites :: Add Website. Or you can also assign dedicated IP Address to one of the existing Name Based Website at path Hosting Services :: Manage Websites :: Website Properties
     
  3. Once the website is created, navigate to the path Website Services :: Manage SSL :: Generate CSR, and generate CSR file for the website.
    Note: HC will not let you generate CSR file for a Name Based Domain.

  4. Provide this CSR file to any certificate authority i.e GoDaddy, Enom etc. to acquire SSL certificate CRT file. After this, you will be able to install the dedicated SSL on the concerned website at path Website Services :: Manage SSL :: Install SSL Certificate in the reseller or webadmin interface.
