How to Update HC Click Apps version?

To update the HC ClickApps core application from the Configurations menu, follow the instructions given below.

Login to the HC10 control panel using the GlobalAdmin user’s credentials.
Navigate to the menu: Configurations >> Applications Conf. >> Click and Install Apps. The following screen will appear :

For HCCandIApps, specify the Application Setup as “Existing” and click on the label “New update is available.” which will further open “Download and Update ClickApps” page as shown below.

Click on Download and Update button which will update the HC ClickApps core application in the HC panel.

Method # 2 ( Updating HC ClickApps core application from Notification bell icon under Global Admin user)

Whenever, the HC Development team uploads any newer version of the HC10 ClickApps core application, its update becomes available in the notification section of the HC10 Control Panel. To update the HC ClickApps core application from the notification bell icon, whole procedure is mentioned below.

Login to the HC10 control panel using the GlobalAdmin user’s credentials.
Navigate to the menu: Configurations >> Notification icon as shown below:

Upon clicking the “Click and Install Apps” link, HC will redirect to the “Download and Update ClickApps” page. See below screenshot for clarity.

Upon clicking on Download and Update button HC ClickApps core application's latest version will be downloaded and installed in the HC panel.

Question: How to configure Click and Install Applications with Hosting Controller v10?

Answer:

Below instructions demonstrate the process of enabling the Click and Install Apps pack. The pack works for both Windows and Linux web servers.

1. To configure Click and Install Apps, login to the panel as admin user, click Configuration icon on the top right corner and proceed to Click and Install Apps option under Application Conf.

2. On next screen select HCCandIApps as the App Type

3. Download Click and Install setup folder from this link , extract the zip file and place folder CandIApps in HC10 installation folder at location C:\Program Files\Hosting Controller\Tools

4. Go back to Click and Install Apps page in HC interface. Click and Install Apps need an administration site in IIS to work. This site serves as a web application for installing various click apps on websites. This site can be a New or an Existing one.

New: If you select the "New" option HC will automatically create a new site with the name "HC Click and Install Apps" in IIS and point its physical path to C:\Program Files\Hosting Controller\Tools\CandIApps. Later a host header may be set against this site in IIS to point it to any other desired URL.

Existing: If you select the "Existing" option HC will allow you to set administration URL on an existing site or its virtual directory. Provide the existing site and point its physical path to C:\Program Files\Hosting Controller\Tools\CandIApps.

That's it ! You have configured Click and Install Apps Pack successfully. Now proceed to enable the apps.

5. To enable Click and Install Apps, from the left menu click Applications and then Click and Install Admin.

6. This opens the administration URL for Click and Install Apps. Individual apps such as WordPress, Joomla etc. can be downloaded from HC's servers here.

7. To enable an application for an individual website, go to the left menu and click Provisioning and then Websites. From the site Dashboard enable the desired apps on the website.

How to hide/disable Click & Install Apps in HC panel

Question: How to hide/disable Click & Install Apps in HC panel ?

Answer:

By following the steps given below you can totally hide/disable Click & Install Apps in the HC panel.

1) Login in HC panel as host and go to Panel Configuration :: Click & Install Apps Configuration :: Click & Install Apps Categories. Chose the category name (such as Forums) and press Edit Category button. On next screen uncheck "category type" for Windows/Linux. This way you can disable one by one all Click & Install Apps categories.

2) Then at the host go to Panel Configuration :: Configure Services :: Display Settings and select option "Hide Menu Items when Disabled"

Note: Since you have disabled Click & Install Apps category using above instructions, make sure it is not assigned in the hosting plan under the host path

Hosting Plans :: Manage Plans :: My Plans :: Edit Plan :: Plan Resources. Exclude Click & Install Apps resources there.

Unable to upload image(s) in click & install Applications using HC Linux

Solution:
To upload image(s) in click applications, compile GD library in the PHP.

Answer:
Run following command to enable GD library in the Linux server:

yum install php-gd

Restart Apache.

MylittleAdmin is not working in IIS 7

Question: MyLittleAdmin is not working in Windows 2008.
OR
Unable to login in Mylittleadmin.

Solution:
For IIS 7, then it is quite easier:

Right click on the Application Pool and select Advanced Settings.
Set the Enable 32-bit Applications as True.
Click OK.

Other Solution:

Try to use TCP/IP protocol to connect to SQL Server on Login page.
While on the connection page, click on the Options button, then in Network protocols choose TCP/IP.

Question: How to configure Click and Install Applications with Hosting Controller?

Solution:
Check following steps before installing Click and Install Apps. on any domain:

PHP and mySQL resources are the part of the purchased plan.
PHP is enabled on domain from Website Services :: Manage Scripting :: PHP and you can run .php page under this domain.
Click and Install Apps. license is activated from Panel Configuration :: Click & Install Apps Configuration :: License Activation.
"Everyone" permissions are added on PHP installation folder.
You can create test MySQL database from HC panel in MySQL Server. If you are facing any issue in creating MySQL database then consult with this kb article to fix database creation issue.

To enable MySQL and other recommended extensions in php.ini file:

Open php.ini file under PHP installation path on server.(On Windows default path is X:\PHP Installation directory\php.ini and on Linux it is /etc/php.ini).
Search extension_dir and enter the path as extension_dir = "X:\PHP installation directory\ext" ( Where 'X' denotes the drive letter on Windows Server). This setting is required only on Windows platform.
To enable the extensions. Remove ' ;' in front of following extensions:

For Windows:

extension=php_curl.dll
extension=php_gd2.dll
extension=php_gettext.dll
extension=php_mbstring.dll
extension=php_exif.dll ; Must be after mbstring as it depends on it
extension=php_mysql.dll
extension=php_mysqli.dll
extension=php_pdo_mysql.dll

For Linux:

extension = mysql.so
extension = mysqli.so
extension =mcrypt.so
extension = gd.so
extension = mbstring.so

For Linux the above mentioned modules must be installed prior to enabling in php.ini file. For example in order to enable mysql.so in php.ini file, you must install it using the following command:

yum install php-mysql

4. Save php.ini file and for changes to take place, please restart Webserver(IIS/Apache).

Question: How to enable Click and Install Applications in HC panel?

Solution:
The installation of any supported Click and Install Application from HC panel is very simple. Follow the simple instructions given below.

For example, to install CMS on a website:

Login in HC panel as Host and then ensure first that PHP and MySQL are configured properly and are running.
Enable Click and Install applications role in HC from Click & Install Apps Configuration :: Click & Install Apps Categories by clicking on edit category button.
Now login as "Reseller/Webadmin".
Go to location Website Services :: Click & Install Apps.
Provide login for back end MySQL Database which will be used for this CMS application.
Click Add or Next button.
In this last step, you will be shown with the credentials of your Admin user for CMS (Note them as these will be used to login as Admin in CMS application). Now Click at Finish Installation button and it shall complete the installation.

* Almost same steps are used for installing all Click and Install Applications, supported by Hosting Controller.
