Question: How to Configure IceWarp in the Hosting Controller Panel on Linux and Windows Servers using the Latest Web API?

Solution:

Follow these steps to configure the latest version of IceWarp Mail Server using the Web API. This integration does not require HC Agent installation and is applicable to both Linux and Windows platforms.

Step1: Enable IceWarp Web API Support in Cluster Settings using the GlobalAdmin user in the HC Panel. Navigate to: Configurations >> Manage Cluster Settings >> On-Premises >> Mail Server.

In this section, select IceWarp using Web API.

Step 2: Click on Add Server and choose On-Premises Enterpise.

Step3: Input the IceWarp configurations:

API URL: Enter the IceWarp API access point (use https or http). Ensure that this URL is accessible via a browser.

Admin User & Password: Provide the IceWarp Mail Server administrator’s username and password.

How to Configure Anti Spam Control in Hosting Controller

Answer:
Hosting Controller supports SpamExperts as its Anti-Spam solution. SpamExperts is an efficient Email filtering agent against spam, viruses, and malware.

Steps to configure SpamExperts in Hosting Controller Panel

Navigate to Configurations >> Applications Configurations >> SpamExperts Configurations and enable Anti-Spam by checking the Enable Spam Experts checkbox.
Insert Required fields are as follows:

Required Fields:

API URL	Provide a valid API URL such as https://demo1.spambrand.com/api
User Name	Provide SpamExperts Reseller name
Password	Provide SpamExperts Reseller password
Confirm Password	Confirm password
DNS Record Settings		Priority	Record Data
MX Record 1	MX Record provided by SpamExperts	e.g. 10	e.g. mx.spamexperts.com
MX Record 2	MX Record provided by SpamExperts	e.g. 20	e.g. fallbackmx.spamexperts.eu
MX Record 3	MX Record provided by SpamExperts	e.g. 30	e.g. lastmx.spamexperts.net

Mailbox Size field is not visible while adding a mailbox through HC

Question: Mailbox Size field is not visible while adding a mailbox through HC ?

Answer:

This usually happens if sold plan to the end user is disabled. If HC billing is enabled and an option is selected to automatically disable user hosting services due to non payment then sold plan will automatically be disabled by HC. Hence HC will not allow to provision additional mailbox.

In order to resolve this issue, settle the pending invoice of the user from Billing Manager :: Customer Report then HC will automatically enable the user hosting services within 24 hrs. To instantly enable the disabled sold plan, login in HC as reseller and go to Hosting Plan :: Sold Plan >>> select the plan which is being used by the user and press enable button. Now webadmin will be able to add new mailbox.

How to customize Icewarp webmail link which is used in HC panel?

Question: How to customize Icewarp webmail link which is used in HC panel?

Answer:
If the Web Server and mail role exist on the same machine then HC will create Icewarp virtual directory under the domain in the IIS, which can be accessed from the following URL: http://yourdomain.com/webmail

But If Icewarp and web server are on separate machines then set the mail access URL in the HC panel setting like
Webmail: http://mail.domain.com
Admin: http://mail.domain.com/admin

Follow the below steps to configure the above customize URL:

1. Change the default Icewarp Mail Control Port from 32000 to 80 and from 32001 to the 443 (SSL).

2. Open Icewarp Administration Console and go to System:: Services.

3. Double-click the Control service and change the ports.

4. Click the OK button. Now you can access your Icewarp Mail WebAdmin by

http://mail.yourdomain/admin

and WebMail by:
http://mail.yourdomain

Note: You have to have an IP address with free port 80 to do that.

How to configure Mail Enable on 64 bit OS?

Question: Unable to create mail domain using Mail Enable on 64 bit OS. Why?

Solution:
This error comes in case of 64 bit OS because HC use to fetch the installation information of third party tools from Software folder in Registry Editor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE but in case of 64 bit OS, Mail Enable folder created under folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node. In order to fix this issue, please follow the steps given below:

    1. Go to registry path of Mail Enable HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\ Wow6432Node\Mail Enable.

    2. Right click on Mail Enable folder and Export it on local drive.

    3. Open the exported registry file in notepad.

    4. Replace all entries "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mail Enable" with "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable" in this file. This way MailEnable key will be copied under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software.

Note: HC started support mail enable on 64 bit OS in version HC 8 build6, version lower than this will not work.

Unable to create mail domain in Smarter Mail Server

Question: Unable to create mail domain in Smarter Mail Server?

Answer:
Make sure about following steps:

Smarter Mail Services are running.
Smarter Mail Server is not in demo mode because it allows only one mail domain in demo mode.
If mail domain already existed in the Mail Server then HC will return error.
Smarter Mail is properly configured with HC. Check following Smarter Mail settings in HC at this path (Go to HCadmin :: Cluster Configuration :: Manage Servers :: My Servers :: Edit Server :: Mail Server).

     Port = Smarter Mail Default Port (9998)
     URL = http://[domain]:[port]
     Default admin user = Provide Smarter Mail admin user
     Password = Provide Smarter Mail admin password

Note: If you have configured Smarter Mail Site in the IIS to use port 80 then make sure WebMail URL is working if you access http://IPAddress (IPAddress = Same IP which you have given in HC Mail Server Configuration )

How to modify Smarter Mail access URL?

Question: How can I modify the mail access URL like http://mail.domain.com for SmarterMail server?

Solution:
The instructions for setting up SmarterMail as an IIS site differ slightly, depending on whether you are using IIS 6.0 or IIS 7.0. Both are described below.
NOTE: This topic assumes that you are familiar with IIS and how it works. SmarterTools recommends you to use the Web server included with SmarterMail, if you are unfamiliar with or uncomfortable using Microsoft IIS.

Running SmarterMail in IIS6
An overview of the instructions are:

Disable the SmarterMail Web server.
Add Application pool.
Add SmarterMail to IIS.
Verify IIS Settings.
Update DNS.
Test the site.

Disable the SmarterMail Web Server
These steps will stop and disable the web server included with SmarterMail. They will also have the side-effect of disabling the shortcut on SmarterMail on your desktop until you update it with the new URL for SmarterMail.

Click on Start :: Program Files :: SmarterTools :: SmarterMail :: Configure SmarterMail Web Server.
Click on the Stop button.
Change the Startup Mode as Disabled.
Click on the Apply button.
Click Close button.

Add an Application Pool
Follow these steps to add an application pool:

Click on Start :: Control Panel :: Administrative Tools :: Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
Right click on Application Pools and select New :: Application Pool.
Name the pool "SmarterMail" (or something equivalent) and click OK.
Click Close.

Add SmarterMail to IIS
Follow these steps to add SmarterMail to IIS:

Click on Start :: Control Panel :: Administrative Tools :: Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
Right-click on the web sites tree on the left of the page and choose New :: Web Site.
When asked for a description, type "SmarterMail".
Choose IP address which is to be used for webmail. If this IP address is shared with another web site, you will need to use a different port or Host Headers. For more information about using Host Headers, refer to the IIS documentation.
For the physical path, browse to the SmarterMail\MRS folder. The default location is: C:\Program Files\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\MRS.
Leave the "Allow anonymous access to this web site" box as checked.
When asked what permissions to grant, choose only Read and Run Scripts.
Finish the Wizard.

Verify IIS Settings
Follow these steps to verify the IIS settings:

If you are using Windows 2003, verify that ASP .NET v2.0.50727 Web Service Extension is set as Allowed in IIS. If you do not see ASP .NET under Web Service Extensions, ensure that ASP .NET is enabled in the Application Server. You can do this by following this path: Control Panel :: Add/Remove Programs :: Windows Components :: Application Server :: Details.
Ensure that the default document for the site is Default.aspx (under the Documents tab).
For better performance, set HTTP content expiration for 7 days on the App_Themes folder unless you are actively creating a new skin.
In Windows 2003, alter application pool's performance tab to disable the "Shutdown worker process after being idle for", or change it to a high value, like 240.

Update DNS
If any domains are already set up with SmarterMail, make sure to update their Webmail DNS records to point to the new IP address.

Test the site
Open up your browser and type the IP address of the site you just added.

Configuring IIS7 for Windows 2008
An overview of the instructions is:

Disable the SmarterMail Web server.
Add Application pool.
Add SmarterMail to IIS.
Verify IIS Settings.
Update DNS.
Test the site.

Click on Start :: Programs :: SmarterTools :: SmarterMail :: Configure SmarterMail Web Server.
Click on the Stop button.
Change the Startup Mode to Disabled.
Click on the Apply button.
Click the Close button.

On the left side of the page, right click and choose Add Website.
Name the site as SmarterMail.
If you created an Application Pool name other than SmarterMail, click Select and choose the correct Application Pool.
For the physical path, browse to the SmarterMail/MRS folder. The default location is C:\Program Files\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\MRS.
For Binding, choose an IP address to use for Webmail. If this IP address is shared with another Web site, you will need to use a different port or Host Headers. For more information about using Host headers, refer to the IIS documentation.
Click OK.

Verify IIS Settings
Follow these steps to verify the IIS settings:

In IIS Manager, click ServerName.
Under Security, double click ISAPI and CGI Restrictions.
Verify that ASP .NET v2.0 is allowed. If it is not, right-click on ASP .NET v2.0 and select Allowed.
In IIS Manager, double-click Sites.
Double-click the SmarterMail site.
Double click on the App_Themes folder.
Under IIS, double click HTTP Response Headers.
Under the Action menus, click Set Common Headers.
Check Expire Web content.
Click After.
Click the add 7 for the number of days.
Click OK.
In Administrative tools under Services, verify that the World Wide Publishing Service is Running.

HC Panel End Settings:

Login in HC panel at hcadmin level, Go to menu Server Manager :: Edit Server :: Mail Setting.
In the mail server IP field enter that Unique IP and enter port "80".
Provide SmarterMail login.
